Electronic Navigation

Innovation maritime’s multidisciplinary team consists of groups of experts in various areas such as electronics, mechanics and computer sciences for the realization of electronic navigation projects. Innovation maritime’s expertise also includes an in-depth knowledge of the complexities of navigation water routes like fog, water levels, tides, confined waters, locks or winds, etc.

The technology required in navigating water routes includes instruments that can be found on the bridges of most vessels and which are used by navigation officers and pilots, but also includes equipment which is used in land stations by marine traffic officers.

Navigation in confined waters is particularly difficult for the navigator. This is why the job is usually given to a pilot who is very knowledgeable of local conditions. However, computer technology is being used more and more to assist these specialists in their work. When we consider the GPS, DGPS, AIS, electronic chart, SINECO (water level), all these innovative technologies contribute to making navigation in confined watersthis more effective and safer.

Maritime Innovation is working on updating these technologies and can count on both the expertise of its specialists and the latest electronic navigation laboratory to do so.
